About
Kia ora, I'm Karen Murphy
Naturopath, medical herbalist and health coach based in Warkworth, working with people across Aotearoa.

Why I do this work
For years I did what a lot of people do: pushed through, ran on caffeine, and told myself the tiredness was just life. Then my own health made that impossible. Getting well again took time, decent information and someone who would actually listen.
That experience is why my consults are long and why I ask a lot of questions. The useful detail is rarely in the first five minutes.
Puāwai means to blossom, to flourish. It's what I want for the people who come and see me — not perfect, not optimised, just well enough to get on with the life they want.
Training and practice
I hold qualifications in naturopathy and medical herbalism, and I've completed health coaching training in the ph360 epigenetic model. I work in person in Warkworth and online by video for people further afield.
I'm a member of a professional naturopathic association and keep my training current each year, which also means most health insurers recognise my consults — worth checking with yours.
How I practise
What you can expect from me
Whole person, not a symptom list
Sleep, digestion, stress, hormones and mood all talk to each other. We look at the pattern rather than chasing one symptom at a time.
Small steps that stick
A plan you abandon in week two helps nobody. We pick changes that fit your budget, your kitchen and your week.
Honest about what I don't know
If something needs your GP or a specialist, I'll say so. Good naturopathy works alongside medical care, not against it.
Rooted in this place
Rongoā Māori and native plant medicine sit alongside modern nutritional science in how I work.
